CRNA received a very generous donation of $1,525.00 from the Southern Rensselaer Co Rotary Club to further its work with veterans with disabilities/special needs in the capital region. CRNA had previously received $200 for its presentation earlier in the winter and participation in SRCRC bowlathon for Bluestar Mothers.

The much appreciated funds will work with the current VA grant to support CRNA’s North East Adaptive race Series occurring throughout NE this winter season. Thank you to President Deborah Rodriguez and all the other Rotarians for these wonderful donations

Eastman Cross Country Center in Grantham, NH was the site of CRNA’s 1st North East Adaptive Race Series 1/3-4/17. Despite rainy, freezing, warm, cold, and windy weather veterans from White River Junction VT Veteran center braved it all to ski, shoot and snowshoe. Most wanting to return and or buy their own snowshoes/skis to get a lot better!

Much Thanks to Brooke Robinson Drew, Jenn Stark, Ellen Chandler and the volunteers for making the 2 day clinic such a start off success….Next Up…Adaptive Sports Foundation in Windham, NY 1/25-26/17

Onward and upward

A real Whopper of a CRNA fundraiser Snowshoe race happened at Hilltop Nordic Center in Richmond, MA, home of CRNA winter events. John Vittori, Tom Wright, Russ and Becky Myer as well as Bob and Denise Dion from Dion snowshoes came together for a great 5K race using all of Hilltop’s courses…Many requests to have more events came forth with planning in the works for future 2017 events-weather dependent. So think snow!!!!

Russ Myer, CRNA President recently traveled to Boston MA and New Glaucester ME to set up ParaNordic Clinics and Events dates….then came away with NENSA’s ParaNordic trailer?!! NENSA is transitioning out of its adaptive program leaving a number of ParaNordic clubs in NE to continue on their own. CRNA is bringing the clubs together for a series of clinics and events starting in December with events at Adaptive Sports Foundation in Windham NY.

With CRNA signing an MOU with Albany Dept Gen’l Svcs to have programming at capital Hills golf course for regional veterans and youth, the trailer was reasonable as a way to store CRNA’s gear (except boots!) at Capital Hills. Not only did CRNA purchase the trailer but all its contents including 113 sitskis and a number of standing nordic ski sets to compliment what CRNA has accrued through its VA grant. CRNA Thanks NENSA and Albany Team RW&B leader Kim VanHeste for both the purchase and her husband Jim going up to New Glaucester ME to bring the trailer back
