Look at the picture and notice the man in the green jacket. Mat McGuire, a volunteer from ASF helped Russ Myer at the recent ASF-CRNA adaptive nrodic/biathlon clinic at ASF’s center at Windham Mt.

Matt was more than helpful, more than kind, more than supportive….to use the term amazing is an understatement. Matt picked up the sports more than quickly, helping the veterans at every request….even being ahead of Russ.

Matt made the clinic!…. and we all are so very appreciative of his contributions…Matt typifies what both CRNA and ASF stand for and strive to accomplish….unwavering service and caring to one and all

Matt……from the bottom of all our hearts…..Thank you!

Russ Myer, CRNA President, recently completed a week long International Paralympic Committee Nordic Classifying assignment at S Korea’s first adaptive nordic cup in Pyeong Chang…home of the next Winter Olympics/Paralympics. Twelve athletes from Russia, China, S Korea, and Japan were classified….putting them in competitive classes as determined by  physical impairment  and Technical evaluations. Russ had an opportunity to see neighboring villages and cities getting a great view of a beautiful region in S Korea. Russ hopes to return for the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games.

CRNA’s Tom Wright lead a 2 day adaptive nordic clinic January 26-28, 2016 at Adaptive Sports Foundation in Windham, NY. A group of determined vets with a variety of disabilities took to both skating and classic skiing at the base of the mt. with additional workouts in roller skiing, xc specific drills and  presentations on equipment and waxing making the clinic a success! Several of the athletes expressed an interest in attending the adaptive nordic events at the empire state games. The next adaptive nordic clinic includes Paralympic Biathlon in late February at ASF

Thank you Tom and ASF!

Hello all

Obviously, the snow at Hilltop Nordic Center in Richmond, MA is currently non existent with no pre-registrants on active.com.  CRNA and Hilltop Nordic Center are ready to run (sorry!) but old man winter is still sleeping with Rip Van Winkle down at his place on the Hudson.  We are all hoping for snow…and there is some in the forecast….and we really don’t need a lot to have a good race so…..

Look to Dion Snow shoe website to see if the event is a go or no…you can always call Tom Wright CRNA Snowshoe/Trail Run  Lead at 518-567-7201. Russ is going to Craftsbury VT for a week to work at an Int’l Paralympic Nordic event…not a lot of snow, but just enough

Happy New Year all

Russ & CRNA gang!

20 Dec 2015

December 15-18 saw CRNA and Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF)  collaborate on national adaptive Nordic clinics at ASF home base in Windham. Program Director Pam Greene worked with CRNA President Russ Myer to hold an entry level AN clinic for a group of veterans from around the country. Sincere there was no snow….no problem as roller skiing substituted for XC skiing and AN infra red and pellet Paralympic  biathlon were demonstrated both indoor as well as at the local golf driving range…as the rain fell!

Several of the athletes wish to attend the upcoming AN events at the ESGs in Lake Placid, NY in early Feb. CRNA and ASF have 2 additional clinics, a XC clinic which will be led by CRNA’s Tom Wright. In addition top Tom being CRNA Snowshoe/Trail leader, he is a PSIA certified Nordic instructor.

Please contact Russ Myer at 315-396-9967/rmyer@nycap.rr.com or Pam Greene at pam@adaptive sportsfoundation.org/518-734-5070
