CRNA Partners with U Albany’s Liberty Partnership Program for Summer

31 Jul 2014

CRNA not only collaborated with Albany PAL for the Summer of 2014 but Liberty Partnerships (LPP) of U Albany.  LPP works with urban youth who attend Albany City School District. The goal is an inquiring curriculum through the summer facilitating successful transition to the next grade or college.  CRNA ran Orienteering classes in conjunction with its Alliance member, Empire Orienteering (Phil and Sue Hawkes-teeter) at the University at Albany with O courses on campus as well as in Washington Park.

Biathlon or its cousin, paintball biathlon was demonstrated and run out of Castleton Fish & game Club in Castleton, NY.  Russ Myer, president instructed in a Biathlon safety clinic, then ran a 4 shooting event with members from the club for 31 youth and staff.  Firearm safety was emphasized throughout the day with a 100% response for the students!

A Thank you to program Director, Kevin Fox, MSW as well as Gerry Kulich- President of the F&G club, VP Tim Crenell, and Chris Rulon……with BIG Kudos to CRNA Biathlon /XC leader Stephen Wilson who directed timing and course for the event. The students enjoyed understanding and gaining a new perspective on firearms, how to handle them…being safe and respectful-all the time!!!!

CRNA looks to work with LPP in 2015!!!
