Family Winter Tune Up Info

The 2012 Family Winter Tune Up is nearly upon us, with less than a week to go. This will be a lot of fun for family and friends alike! Events include Roller Skiing, Orienteering, Trail Running, Summer Biathlon, Internationally recognized speakers,

Lunch, and some amazing Raffle Prizes from some of our sponsors! There will also be lots of gift certificates available from local businesses.

So make sure you sign up online today! Or you can download the Application Form and mail it in or bring it with you to the event. For those that are NYSSRA Nordic members or students in high school or college, there is a $5 discount for registration if you are a registered member of CRNA on Meetup.com.

If you plan to attend only the afternoon Winter Tune Up events, consider riding the beautiful Saratoga-North Creek Railroad!

Please consider the Raffle (see button on right side of screen for link to online ticket purchasing). We have some great prizes and services from US Biathlon Association (USBA), V2 Roller Skis, Dion Snowshoes, High Peaks Cyclery, The Nordic Emporium, Toko, Altius Firearms (biathlon), ADK Rafting, Cunningham Ski Barn, Sports Authority, Stride Adaptive Sports, Garnet Hill, North Creek businesses, and others who want us all to enjoy the 2012-2013 winter!

9am: Roller Ski Race in the Village of North Creek

10:30-11:15am: Concurrent presentations at Tannery Pond Community Center:

Three-time Winter Olympic Biathlete, Curtis Schreiner

Orienteering USA President, Peter Goodwin (speaking at Garnet Hill Lodge & XC Ski Center)

Dion Snowshoes founder and owner, Bob Dion; and United States Snowshoe Association (USSSA) Marketing Director, Mike Bucek

New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) Technical Delegate, Allan Serrano; and NY State Nordic Ski Racing Association (NYSSRA Nordic) President, Darwin Roosa

12-1pm: Lunch, Raffle, and Nordic vendors at Garnet Hill Lodge & XC Ski Center

1:30-2pm: Score-O Orienteering, Summer Biathlon (.22cal & paintball), and 5K Trail Run (all will start at Garnet Hill Lodge & XC Ski Center)
**Prizes for Top Male and Female competitors who compete in the 5K Trail Run as well as the Gore Mt. 5K Leaf Cruncher Run on Sunday, 30 September**

4-5pm: Awards Ceremony, dedicated time with Nordic vendors

*Those that participated in the 5K Trail Run on Saturday will be able to participate in the Gore Mt. 5K Leaf Cruncher in a Pursuit format.
